WINGTRO & WINGFOIL LESSONS

                     WINGFOILING

This exciting and fastest growing watersport of wing foiling has hit our shores.

Have you spotted someone out on the water holding a wing while their board hovers above the water with a hydrofoil underneath? Then that’s Wing Foiling!

Want to know what it’s all about and how you can get some of that action? Then you’ve come to the right place.

What Is Wing Foiling?

Wing Foiling is the latest innovation in board sports. It combines the expertise of riding a short SUP board mounted with a hydrofoil with the thrill of holding a specially designed ‘wing’ that is not attached to the board. Wing Foiling provides the rider with maximum freedom on the water, utilising both the wind and water energy for the ultimate ride.

Wingfoiling is so accessible for everyone and opens up so many disciplines. From flat-water cruising and freestyle, to pumping and gliding through seafront chop and bumps, to carving around in the waves.  The progression through wingfoiling can go down any route and make even the average day totally epic.

WING "INTRO" LESSON

If you want to be "winging it", a WingTro is the place to start.

This introductory lesson is designed for those who have no previous wing or foiling experience, and aims to get you to grips with handling and steering the wing on a displacement board / SUP.  You’ll cover skills of manoeuvring yourself up, down and across the wind. Turning.  Self-rescue paddle techniques and pumping the wing.

By focusing on the wing flying skills and board balance in this first session you create a great platform to build on your foiling skills on the next session and be cruising above the water in no time.

This is a structured two hour lesson offered by our BKSA WingFoil Instructors, who will guide and instruct you through this. The two hour lesson is split into an hour of land based theory and practical, followed by an hour of water based practical.

The WingTro involves :

Introduction to equipment, how to set up, and carry the equipment

Wing walking on land, learning how to hold and handle the wing, and how to change direction.

Transferring these skills onto the water with the dedicated wing sup board. Firstly going across the wind on your knees on the board, and progressing to standing up. Also learning self rescue techniques, and introduction to pumping techniques.

This two hour lesson also enables you to learn precious tips and guidance that will be of significant help on your wing foil progression.
